Whether this is a war, or merely an engineered *Anschluss*, the situation is indeed grim - since I wrote the comment above, over a month ago, the image of that grimness has further unfolded. With the first major irreversible effects of the actions, or inactions, of the current administration becoming obvious now, it is important to hold on to reality, however difficult it is to stomach.
I cannot speak for those 'like' me since I don't know what your criterion is for that category - it may not be the same as my own, which is a very tentative one. And I think that 'reality' has become *more* complex to assess now, rather than less so. This is a matter for analysis guided by reason, not by hope or fear.
In these terms, the verdict is not out yet, for me. There is much that remains puzzling, inexplicable or ambiguous about what is happening. What is clear so far is the intention of our opponents to destroy the nation - economically, politically, militarily and socially. This is being pursued relentlessly and apparently with some urgency - and with it, the remains of the Western alliance that leant so heavily on the power of the US (for good or ill).
Those intentions were predictable, and I would expect them to have been predicted, not just by people like myself, but by people with power, equally unhappy with the outcome if unopposed. It is reasonable to think that those people would have worked to plan and create the best opposition they could under the circumstances of wholesale but uneven infiltration by traitorous actors.
I am aware that (real implies hidden) does not imply (hidden implies real) of course. However, in a war, the hidden intermingles with the evident, and I think there are enough indications that such a counter-coup was indeed planned, and may well have been activated. It is not a matter of 'hope over substance', but careful analysis, in the service of preparedness as an ordinary citizen, for either eventuality.
I hope I've reassured you somewhat - these are unusual times, and the world will not be as it was. Analysis either anticipates reality, or it is overwhelmed by it. I know which I prefer, whatever the conclusions are that I, and many others, reach.

I'm trying to save as many as I can from waiting on and depending on mythical palace coups and MIL tribunals to alter our course and fall of our country.
If any of that is true we as citizens can not actively participate very much to help it. But we cannot waste another 10 months sitting around staring at our computer screens dreaming of miracles.......
We are THE KEY, the unstoppable force, the power they fear the most.....To get everybody onto the same page and mindset is paramount.

If there is anyone in a position of hidden power who has our best interests at heart, I would remind them of one of those sayings from the recent past:
'Sometimes you cannot tell people the truth.
You must show them.'
We are now at a time when it is WE who need to actually be shown the truth - we've been told, and told, for so long now. We're entitled to be shown - unambiguously, openly, and in such a way that we will know what to do in order to play our part. OpSec be damned now, if this is real, the other side already knows, so let us know, or you break faith with your most loyal-hearted and true comrades, and you lose not only credibility but the very legitimacy you have seemed to be constructing for so long.
If it turns out that I along with so many others, are just victims of a cruel deception, then I will take silence as confirmation of that unpalatable fact, and make such other arrangements as seem necessary.
One strategy we should all have united upon, (and can implement quickly) is anonymous boycotts. Starve all these liberal companies, corps, media all of them of ANY money. Should have started years ago, but especially now after the election.
If 150 million americans did that we could squeeze them right into bankruptcy and exact political leverage over all of them to implement MAGA policies and justice.
